Mandate

The 4th Annual Shadow Art Show, as part of the Shadows of the Mind Film Festival, is intended to showcase the artwork of people living with mental illness and provide education on the healing powers of art therapy.

Eligibility

• Artists living with a mental illness are encouraged to submit their personal works for consideration
• Artists must reside within the district of Algoma

Art Requirements / Restrictions

• All Submissions must be received by February 1, 2008
• Submissions previously showcased in the Shadows Art Show are not eligible for re-entry
• All submissions must remain on display for the full duration of the show (February 19-24, 2008)
• The number of works accepted may be limited by the available display space
• All submissions must be original work
• Framing of the artwork is the responsibility of the participant

Deadline

• Submission Forms along with photographs of artwork must be received no later than February 1, 2008
• All submission forms must be complete, with all required information, in order to be considered for acceptance. A photograph of each work must accompany the submission form, except in the case of written work.

Limitation of Liability

Shadows of the Mind Film Festival and Canadian Mental Health Association, it’s employees, volunteers, consultants, representatives and partners do not accept any responsibility – including responsibility for negligence, physical damage, personal injury, economic loss cost or expenses of any kind, or any other loss or damage of any kind whatsoever – suffered or incurred by anyone or any artwork as a direct consequence of participation in the art show.

All original artwork displayed is done so with the permission of the artist submitting the work.

Your assistance in setting up and taking down the artwork may be required. Details will be discussed with each artist prior to show dates.
